Generally we focus on universal 7" double din units that fit most cars from the get go. If unsure, send us a picture of your dashboard and we'll advise you. Universal Unit Dimensions are (mm) H108 x W178 x D47.

We do however also work on car-specific devices where universal units don't fit. It is the hardware inside that decides whether we can do it, rather than the size of the unit itself.

Unfortunately, we don't. We do recommend a car audio professional to do it. We can recommend one in your area.

Yes, however Android Auto is just a light version of Android. Android Auto offers a very limited Android experience as it only supports selected Android apps. As an example - you can't use any internet browsers on Android Auto so if you want to listen to Internet Radio, you can't.

CarPlay is supported but again - you shouldn't need it as you can synchronize (i.e pair) your iPhone via bluetooth while keeping all the Android functionality.

Most of the Android head units are built in China and come with the same hardware. While they advertise lots of functionality, these units perform really poorly both in terms of speed and sound quality. Here is what you normally get:

• Poorly hacked Android operating system causing Google Play refuse to let you install apps
• Very slow, Google Maps takes minutes to load
• Unappealing user interface with zero customizations
• WIFI speeds only up to 4 Mbit/s
• WIFI speeds up to 0.8 mbit/s if Bluetooth is also active
• No equalizer or a very poor one
• No sound processing
• No fade between front and back speakers (newer models)

• Hardware sound electronics will cause very poor sound experience even if you have amazing speakers.
• Expect high noise levels
• Poor or no bass
• The highs will make your ears bleed
• Very poor FM radio
• Constant overheating as there is no cooling installed at all.

Most of all, many these units last about 6-12 months.

ExtremeMOD units are made for audiophiles on budget. The RRP of our units is beyond £2,000 however we sell them at a fraction of that cost as we do it for charity and also feel that great sound should be affordable to anyone.

Yes you can connect the unit to either a canbus box or directly wire to steering wheel controls

Yes, we can definitely assist. We offer a complimentary 2-hour consultation over video call to help you set up the internal sound processor (Viper4Android)

You absolutely don't. In fact, if you do have an external amp or DSP then you should probably not buy this unit.

ExtremeMOD units are meant to be an all-in-one solution for your car. In our experience, you'll need a fairly expensive external amplifier and DSP unit to match the sound quality of our product.

We use the same power conversion technology as you'll find in aftermarket external amplifiers but we're the only ones in the world (right now) that have the same capability in our units.

Please note that an internal amplifier can never compete with hi-end external amplifiers and DSP units, however you will not find anything in the same price bracket as our products when it comes to quality of the sound.

Here are the recommendations and limitations of our products:

• Active Subwoofer is highly recommended

• We do not recommend passive subwoofers to be connected to our units

• You can run up to 8x 4-Ohm speakers powered by our unit (plus an active subwoofer)

• You can run up to 4x 4Ohm speaker with a passive subwoofer but we do not recommend it

The fans aren't noisy. They are however temperature-controlled. This means they'll only activate when cooling is needed.

Every unit is stress-tested extensively to ensure proper and long-term operation. As we don't mass-produce them, we can use much deeper quality control techniques, as you would expect with anything bespoke.

We only work on pre-orders. Reach out to us to discuss what we can build for you. Expect delivery times of around 2 months.

On occasion, we'll have a cancelled order and will sell that unit on eBay or Facebook marketplace. If you subscribe, you'll get an email, notifying you that we have such unit available

We only charge you once the unit is completed and ready for shipping.

We do but you will need to pay postage and any import taxes.
